The Festival Program
The Festival Program is now live, with details of 50+ events and 100+ participants in just five days. Check it out then return to this page to register your festival pass.
Student, General & VIP Passes
Three tiers offer different levels of access, as well as scaling priority for individual session reservations. Student and General passes access the same program of events, with VIP receiving additional invitations to limited capacity sessions, and exclusive after-hours events.
VIP Pass holders will have priority access to individual session reservations.
Day Passes
Individual day passes are now available for those unable to attend the full festival.
Discounts & Media Passes
We are pleased to offer a student discount and hope to welcome attendees from many institutions to form connections whilst on the MIT campus. Please register with your official institutional email address, and bring student ID to access Festival Venues.
All current MIT students, faculty, and staff are entitled to a free Festival Pass. Please register with your MIT email address, and expect to present your MIT ID on arrival.
Cambridge Resident Members of the MIT Museum can access free General Passes – membership will be verified at Festival Venues. If you live in Cambridge and aren’t yet a member, why not find out more?
The Festival offers an Educator Discount to members of the Massachusetts Teachers Association and EBT card holders (must show card/ID on arrival). Please email info@mitfuturefest.org for further information.

Children & Under-18s
Although MIT Future Fest is designed for adults, the final day of the Festival welcomes attendees of all ages. Our flagship family-friendly STEAM extravaganza – Cambridge Science Carnival – takes over the Kendall/MIT Open Space on Sunday October 4. This event runs from 12-4pm with free entry; festival passes are not required.
The main program (Wednesday September 30 – Saturday October 3) is designed for an 18+ audience and we don’t recommend it for anyone younger than high school. If you would like to attend with high school age children, please register for a Festival Pass then email info@mitfuturefest.org to request the addition of one or two Under-18 Companion Passes. Please note, the maximum number of under-18s per adult is two.
Under-18 Companion Passes are offered at the same price as the Student Pass*, and under-18s must be accompanied at all times by an adult. Adding an Under-18 Companion pass will prevent attendees from accessing certain sessions with a minimum age restriction.
* With the exception of Cambridge Resident Members of the MIT Museum, who are entitled to up to two free Under-18 Companion Passes per adult.
Cancellation policy
You may cancel your registration for a refund less 10% of the price paid until August 30. Refunds will be issued to the original method of payment. After August 30 no refunds are available, but you may transfer your ticket to another person by providing authorization to us in writing.
All cancellations, change requests, and transfers should be sent to info@mitfuturefest.org.
Attendee code of conduct
MIT Future Fest is committed to providing safe, respectful environments for all attendees, speakers and staff. By participating in this event, you agree to conduct yourself respectfully during all parts of the event and for the duration of your time on the MIT Campus. Violations will be dealt with at the organizer’s discretion and may result in removal from the event. To report an incident, please contact us at info@mitfuturefest.org.
